Dear Reader,I am delighted to connect with you as we embark on a new chapter, updating you with the latest developments from the heart of EFCI.  I am excited to share the improvements we’ve taken in the past two months.I am thrilled to announce the addition of a new Communication and Policy Officer with a multicultural background to our team, his name is Alessandro. His arrival aligns with our commitment to diverse perspectives and innovative communication strategies.In recent months, EFCI has traversed significant events, from our presence at the CMS fair in Berlin in September to the inspiring European Cleaning and Hygiene Awards in Dublin, in October, where our French members won a prestigious award.Later in the month of October, our Director General, Matteo Matarazzo, shared insightful outcomes at the Eurofound event in Brussels, on the condition of essential workers during the pandemic, underscoring our globalized and interconnected approach to industry representation.On October 25th, EFCI made a historic appearance at a hearing hosted by the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs at the European Parliament. The focus of the session revolved around exploring the avenues presented by Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement in the pursuit of social objectives. This marked a significant milestone for EFCI, as it represented the industry sector’s inaugural contribution to a public hearing at the European Parliament.Moreover, I wanted to inform you that we are organizing next November 14 – together with the social partners of the private security and contract catering sectors a public event to discuss precisely “our” take on how public procurement rules impact on our work– and what could be made to make these rules change.📌Your Presence Matters! For the occasion, all EFCI Members are invited to participate in both the Board meeting and the whole LIFE event.As we navigate these milestones, we remain dedicated to enhancing our communication channels to keep you abreast of industry news and policy developments at both national and European levels.

The international cleaning trade fair CMS Berlin offers a complete market overview of products, systems and processes for all commercial cleaning technology. The focus of the industry show is on innovations and further technical developments in cleaning machines and equipment as well as cleaning, care and disinfection agents.

Mr.Matarazzo highlighted the vital role of open communication in preventing conflicts at the political level and fostering balanced solutions. In his words, “To ensure quality employment, companies must be given quality contracts, including through public spending.” This stance underscored the holistic approach needed to improve the conditions of essential workers.
